Prior to his retirement at the end of 2018, Jimmy was responsible for maintaining proactive communications with the investment community and Wall Street analysts that follow Southern Company and the electric utility industry. Responsibilities also included marketing to existing and potential institutional investors as well as individual investors. He was responsible for developing communications related to the Company’s strategies.
In addition to his role at Southern Company, Jimmy held several industry leadership positions including serving on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) and as Chairman of the Edison Electric Institute’s Investor Relations Group.
Throughout his four-decade career at Southern Company, Jimmy held numerous positions at Georgia Power Company and Southern Company in Corporate Accounting, Finance, Corporate Planning, Financial Planning, Treasury, Responsibility Budgeting and Cash Management.
Before joining Southern Company, he was employed by Habif, Arogeti and Wynne, CPA and Arthur Anderson.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Georgia State University and a Master’s Degree in Finance from Mercer University.
